BRIDGE COMMITTEE REPORT 1
One of the goals of the “Lift High the Cross” Capital Stewardship Program is to keep the members of our church informed and to celebrate the progress of this exciting project. The Bridge Committee, comprised of Don and Karen Metzger and Jim and Joan Gayle Chapin, will be giving you periodic updates over the next three years. Our purpose includes the following:
At this time, we are happy to report that the pledges and cash available is approximately $2,565,000. The Session has approved moving forward on the Maintenance Phase immediately. The primary part of this is roof repair and replacement, with some additional maintenance items as well. The construction work on this phase should begin this fall. Contracts have been approved for the land survey and geo-tech testing. Some of you may have noticed the flags on the grounds indicating this is in progress. Based on the amount of pledges to date, the next phase will be the North Addition Phase of the total Master Plan. The BIC (Building Implementation Committee) is currently reviewing this plan with the architects and engineers to determine any alterations based on information submitted by various members and the pledge amount available.
The Narthex and Multi-Purpose/Fellowship Hall phases will be left for the future.
We look forward to keeping everyone up to date on the progress of the BIC as we move forward in this very exciting phase of our building expansion project. We will be bringing you updates during the church services, as well as in the Cross Currents, newsletters and Sunday bulletins. Soon, you should be receiving yellow pledge envelopes in the mail. There will be an additional supply available at the information desk based on the frequency of when you chose to submit your pledges.
Please be sure to ask us any questions you may have about the “Lift High the Cross” Capital Stewardship Program. If we do not have the answers, we will find them for you!
Scripture Reference
“And here is my advice about what is best for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give, but also to have the desire to do so. Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.” II Corinthians 8:10-11
