Minutes – January 3, 2006 – 7:00 pm

Committee members present: David Moore (moderator), Mary Ann Pederson (clerk), Paula Allen, Jean Brady, Chris Erickson, Doug Hartman, Larry Keating,

Mac McCartney, Lloyd Meyer, John Morey

Discussion on details of current building’s deficiencies:

· How to determine number of classrooms actually needed?

· What is actually needed for secure childcare?

· What repairs/replacements are required soon, regardless of expansion?

Sessions with small groups should confirm our information about such details, and determine degree of urgency about each. BEEC is a clearinghouse for information, not a tool for promoting a ready-made plan.

Roll-out of information will include:

• Minute for Mission on Jan. 22 at both services, to:

Introduce committee members

Explain small-group information process

Promote interest and seek participation in our Facilities project

• Announcement in Cross Currents and Sunday bulletins of small group meetings and Forums
• Website and Information Center will make all BEEC materials available to all

Small-group information sessions and Forums will include:

• Bullet-point summaries of “Opportunities for Growth” – handout (Larry will refine)
• “Glitz” document with photos of existing facilities (David will assemble)
• Sign-in sheet for participants so we will know who has received information (Mary Ann will prepare)
• Outline of discussion so that sessions can be consistent and inclusive (Lloyd will create)
• Two BEEC members will visit each small group; one will lead discussion and other will record comments, etc. (Jean will collate the data collected from sessions)
